Alcoholism and substance abuse awareness day

I was thinking of creating a city wide awareness day in Baguio, Metro Manila, Cebu, Ozamis, etc. Cities that have NA and AA fellowships that might be interested in this concept of creating awareness regarding the ills brought about alcoholism and substance abuse. This day could be anyday that could be made significant to NA or AA fellowships. A day that could be passed by a resolution from various city councils, for example, in cities that wish to participate, as a day to create awareness for this cause. Much like what happened a few days ago, which they called earth day, I think, here, wherein those that wished to participate shut off their lights at a certain time for one hour to create awareness on the need to conserve energy. We could call it Spiritual Recovery Day or something and maybe we could get the support of local radio stations to have several one minute plugs during this day. And I don't know what else we could do. I am using the word "we" as if there were people ready to support me for this undertaking, but the truth is, no one has volunteered as of now, but I expect my friends Del S. and Junjun A. both from the AA and NA fellowship in Baguio to back me up and help me brainstorm on this project should they find it interesting or a worthwhile project to do. I'll wait and see what they have to say.

Movement against alcoholism and substance abuse

Hello Everyone,

For some persons and families, alcoholism and substance abuse has been a major problem in their lives. This blog aims to address this problem by becoming a venue or a forum for questions and answers regarding alcoholism and substance abuse.
The writer of this blog was an active alcoholic for 28 years of his life and has been clean and sober for 10 years and 9 months to this date.
For this I have to thank the God of my understanding, the 12 step program of AA and NA and its fellowship here in the Philippines, in particular, Makati, Manila, Quezon City, Cebu and Baguio. Cities all in the Philippines.
Everyone is encouraged to comment or post their concerns or problem on this blog or reply directly to my email and rest assured that your confidentiality and anonymity is of the utmost importance.
